“My fault, I shouldn’t have flirted”

I met a male philosopher at an annual conference and we flirted as well as talked philosophy. I declined to sleep with him, because I knew he was in a committed relationship and I didn’t want to mess with that. The next year he was the program chair for the conference. My paper was not accepted. Moreover, my request to be included on the program as a chair or commentator was ignored. When the program was published, there were several blank spots where chairs had not yet been identified. I ended up drifting away from that professional society. My fault, I shouldn’t have flirted.
